Shure KSM44MP Large-Diaphragm Multi-Pattern Condenser Microphone

The Shure KSM44MP is a large-diaphragm, multi-pattern condenser microphone designed for recording professionals who demand versatility, accuracy, and pristine low-noise performance. Part of the refreshed KSM Studio Microphone line from Shure, the KSM44MP combines a precision dual-diaphragm capsule with refined electronics and premium accessories, delivering a flexible studio tool suited for a wide range of recording techniques and sound sources.

Dual-Diaphragm Capsule and Multi-Pattern Control
At the heart of the KSM44MP is a precision-engineered 1″ dual-diaphragm capsule using gold-layered diaphragms. This architecture enables selectable polar patterns—cardioid, omnidirectional, and bidirectional—while stabilizing sensitivity and polar pattern consistency. The result is improved off-axis control, particularly at low frequencies, and cleaner results in multi-microphone and stereo recording setups. A 15 dB pad is available for recording louder sources.

Natural Voicing with Creative Flexibility
The KSM44MP delivers a flat, accurate response with a subtle high-frequency lift that enhances detail while remaining smooth and natural. This balanced voicing makes it ideal for modern production styles, capturing airy vocal textures, delicate overtones, and nuanced instrumentation without harshness. The microphone’s consistency across polar patterns ensures predictable tonal results whether used for close-miking, room capture, or advanced stereo techniques such as M/S and Blumlein.

Ultralow Noise and Professional Construction
Extremely low self-noise allows clean capture of quiet passages with ample headroom for gain and processing. The lightweight, all-metal construction ensures durability while keeping the microphone easy to position on boom stands and in complex setups. A precision-machined steel grille highlights the gold-layered capsule and reinforces long-term reliability for daily studio use.

Premium Accessories Included
The KSM44MP includes a proprietary shockmount that isolates the microphone from rumbles and vibrations using a durable silicone suspension system, along with a detachable magnetic pop filter to reduce plosive sounds. A premium zippered carrying case, swivel hard mount, threaded adapter, and an extra set of shockmount bands complete the accessory suite, providing a fully equipped, studio-ready microphone system for critical recording applications.
